First run in the early 1970s, it attracts upward of 1000 participants annually, and it has generated $180,000 since the year 2000. Our major used book sale, Bookarama, has been running since 1976!

Note our support for local and national youth events and programmes

Read about our club to lean more about our strong youth focus with leadership, personal development and exchange initiatives.  Find out about our support for arts and science with Artarama, Art Scholarship, Dictionaries to Schools and the Sanford Science and Technology Fair.

Though these projects we connect to a diverse range of organisations, local, nationally and internationally.  For example, you can help out with the travelling Circus Quirkus or volunteer alongside other service clubs to make the PrimePort Christmas Parade even more wonderful for our children.

Read through our stories about the things we get to do together.  A biggie is our backcountry excursions,  For instance, join us on our annual club trips to remote locations and experience the most beautiful and fascinating parts of our island. We have ventured into many local headwaters like the Cass, Hopkins, and Rakaia Rivers. Sometimes we venture further into Central Otago and North Canterbury, Nevis Valley and the Clarence Reserve being superb examples.  Another great gathering is at Glendhu Bay, Wanaka, for a week of camping and fishing, held annually for over 50 years!.

Attend our special evenings for partners and family, club birthdays, and our Santa-themed end-of-year meeting. We also love to unwind with 'after-match' BBQs for volunteers.

Enjoy informative guest speakers at our twice-monthly meetings, which are also a great way to meet new people. We also go on vocational visits. With our diverse range of interests and experiences, you'll have the chance to network and share your skills with other members.
